You have your own accounts

You have funded your accounts
Not only is having your own accounts important, but you need to fund them. The main reason for this is that you might lose access to the joint accounts when you file for divorce. Once you have enough money in your separate bank account to cover at least part of your divorce costs along with personal expenses for several months, then you have taken another important step in the preparation process.
If you have completed the above steps and set up your divorce team, you are ready to file for divorce. By delaying too long, you might make the entire process harder on yourself than it needs to be.
